Introduction

Nerd Closet

I've started this blog in order to have an archive of my collection that I have amassed over the years

through various methods and to tell the stories of how it has come to be. The name comes from how

ashamed I was throughout high school and college of card collecting. The stigma behind cards is

extremely negative and it is assumed that you are a lesser person than those that have more mainstream

hobbies. I have kept this part of my life a secret from family members and friends with few exceptions

but recently I shared my rather robust collection with a friend that had just an inkling of how passionate I

am about pieces of cardboard.

From this experience, I have discovered how liberating it can be to express yourself freely without the

worry of judgement and abandonment. I hope that by sharing the stories of my collection, I can inspire

new and old generations to look at their collections in a new light and find the courage within themselves

to break free of any shackles that may be holding them. The goal is to display a piece or a collection of

pieces a week throughout the year until I cover every card with a story. At which point I will post the

more mundane pieces until another piece comes into my possession with a story to match the rest.

Here's to all of my fellow closet nerds in the world. Hope you enjoy.
